“... because we can!” CHANGES is an extremely versatile and experienced music group that changes its musical styles, volume levels, and attire to meet the requirements of your special occasion! CHANGES plays a wide variety of musical hits from the 1930s to the 1980s. We grew up with classic rock, pop, and country music, including the Beatles, Elvis Presley, the Righteous Brothers, and ZZ Top. But later, we "grew up" (!) to love the “great American songbook” of jazz, ballad, and swing standards from Broadway musicals, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk, with all those great changes (chord progressions). CHANGES is an experienced band. We have played together as CHANGES since 1998, and have a combined experience of nearly 5,000 gigs since 1976. We have played for almost every conceivable type of event, reception, social, party, or dance at nearly every hotel, country club, reception center, church, and school along the Wasatch front. References are available on request. CHANGES plays the right music at the right volume level for you. We love to play classy background music quietly so that people can easily converse over the music; this works great for dinners, receptions, and meet-and-greets. But we also love to play dance music where a wider variety of styles, tempos, and dynamics are needed. And we can do either, or both, all night long - because we can! CHANGES also gives you a wide variety of choices in our attire to fit in with your event from very formal to casual: tuxedos with tails (in white, black, or turquoise!); dark suites; slacks & tie, business casual, or Hawaiian casual. CHANGES accomplishes all this musical variety with only three people (but lots of instruments):
CHANGES knows how to have fun and be musically creative! We always challenge each other to play our best. Whenever appropriate, we’ll have some fun with each other and our audience, often changing the music, and lyrics, on the spot! We call this creativity “being in the zone”, and we try to get there as often as possible! For listening and / or dancing, we know how to have fun playing for you! CHANGES also loves a musical challenge: try to "stump the band" by requesting your favorite songs. If it was a top ten hit, chances are we will know it. And we’ll try most anything once! We can also add a female vocalist if that repertoire is required. CHANGES would love to play for you!
